  • Supervisors Adopt New Comprehensive Plan Update

At a public hearing held on July 19th, 2010 the Board of Supervisors adopted a new Comprehensive Plan Update. After 15 months of development, numerous public discussions, including two Public Meetings before the Planning Commission, and a Public Hearing before the Supervisors, the Board is pleased to announce the adoption of this long range plan for the growth of our community. A plan that has been commended for “its forward thinking and vision” by the Montgomery County Planning Commission in its review of the final draft will guide our future development within the Township.

The Board of Supervisors would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the professionals and staff that contributed so much to this plan; in particular, the Planning Commission, a group of community volunteers who shepherded this document through the development process. In addition, a big thank you to those groups of citizens and other interested parties that made suggestions, pointed out areas for improvement, and recommended action items that will come out of this process. It is anticipated that a joint meeting of the Board of Supervisors and Planning Commission will be held in the near future to prioritize items for action as we move forward into the coming years.
