Special Events - Community Day
Black Rock Park -- Saturday, September 19, 2009

Upper Providence Township Community Day was held on Saturday, September 20, with over 8,000 people in attendance. The Park and Recreation Department would like to thank everyone who attended, as well as the volunteers that helped make this our best Community Day yet. |
The 5K race started at at 9 a.m. with just under one hundred runners competing. With their help, we raised $1,000 for the Special Olympics. The Olympians that ran with us that day are pictured at right. We want to thank them for coming out and joining us in our first run. |

Community Day includes a business expo, children's events, food, and music. This year our line up of music included the Cool Beans, Mango Men, and ended with Beatlemania Now. It was a great show followed by some of the best fireworks we've seen. |
Fire and Emergency services were well represented with over six companies in attendance. We also want to thank the Masons for making theh PA Chip program available to our residents.
