Members of the Upper Providence Township Police department joined together in forming a police association in 2006. The Upper Providence Township Police Association (UPTPA) is a non-profit organization that serves both the officers and the residents of the township through fundraising and community activities.

Elected officers of the UPTPA are:

  • Sgt. Mark Freeman, President
  • Officer Mark Minnick, Vice President
  • Officer Raymond Bechtel III, Secretary
  • Officer Jeffrey Hilt, Treasurer

The UPTPA works with township officials and the Board of Supervisors to make Upper Providence Township a safe place to live. Any suggestions or donations for the UPTPA may be sent to the following:

Donate to the UPTPA

Based on four months of fundraising research, the UPTPA has recently signed a contract with a marketing firm out of Philadelphia called The Empire Group. The solicitation will most likely be starting the week of May 1, 2007 .

Recent Activities

UPTPA Sponsors Franks Run
The Upper Providence Township Police Association was a proud sponsor of the 6th Annual Franks Run at the Spring-Ford High School on June 2, 2007. The event consists of a 5K Run/Walk and a 1- mile Fun-Run/Walk.

Frank Colden graduated from the Spring-Ford Area High School in 2000 and lost his battle for life with a brain tumor on June 18, 2001. The Proceeds of this run will benefit the American Brain Tumor Association and the Francis X. Colden, III, Memorial Scholarship Fund.
