Alarms

False security and fire alarms put emergency responders at needless risk and draw them away from helping people in need. Each year, Upper Providence receives hundreds of false alarms. The Township’s alarm ordinance is meant to encourage residents to maintain their alarm systems in a way that avoids false alarms. According to the Township Alarm Ordinance, any person who violates any provision of Chapter 122: Peace and Good Order (which includes false alarms) shall be deemed guilty of a summary offense and, upon conviction thereof, shall be fined not more than $25 for each offense.
