Police Chief Mark A. Toomey began his career with the Hatfield Township Police Department in Montgomery County PA on April 24, 1977. Chief Toomey performed the duties of a patrol officer until being assigned to the Detective Division in 1988. Chief Toomey was promoted to Detective Sergeant in June of 1994 and later attended the Command Institute for Police Executives in September of 1996.He attended the FBI National Academy in Quantico, Virginia and graduated in December 1997 as a member of the Academy’s 191st session. On July 7, 2003 he was promoted to Chief of Police, a position he held until he retired from Hatfield Township.
On 2013 he began his employment with Upper Providence Township Police Department where he was hired as Chief of Police, a position he holds currently.
Chief Toomey is a graduate of the Montgomery County Community College where he earned an Associate Degree in Applied Science and continued his education at Villanova and Temple Universities.
