Laurie Higgins has lived in Upper Providence Township for nearly 18 years. She is married to her husband Scott Johnson and has two adult children; her daughter a graduate of Spring-Ford High School.
Laurie has a vast array of work experience including a secretary in various businesses, veterinarian’s assistant, massage therapist, Pilates instructor, riding instructor and a volunteer for many organizations in many places. Laurie and her husband both worked on Capitol Hill; her husband worked for a Representative from Washington State and Laurie worked for a North Carolina Senator, the Democratic Study Group and, later, for a public opinion pollster.
Laurie is an animal lover. She has three cats and currently clicker trains two horses and a dog.
In her spare time, Laurie and husband enjoy ballroom dancing. Laurie also takes pastel painting classes at Greater Norristown Art League and one of her paintings (Taylor Farm Barn) is hanging in the UPT Administration Building.
