Dan Kerrigan is Chief of Fire and Emergency Services. He is responsible for all overall management and administration of municipal fire and emergency services, including a career fire department, four contract volunteer fire departments, and three contract EMS agencies. He is author of the bestselling book Firefighter Functional Fitness, a member of the International Association of Fire Chiefs Safety, Health and Survival Section Board of Directors, & an international speaker on firefighter health and wellness. He is a 33-year veteran of the fire service, and his tenure includes time in volunteer, combination and career organizations of varying size and complexity.
Dan earned his graduate degree in Executive Fire Service Leadership from Grand Canyon University. He holds an undergraduate degree in Community and Human Services from Empire State College and is a credentialed Executive Fire Officer (EFO) through the United States Fire Administration (USFA), a credentialed Chief Fire Officer (CFO), a Certified Fire Protection Specialist (CFPS) through the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), and holds the Pennsylvania Professional Emergency Manager certification.
