Upper Providence Township started work on its Comprehensive Plan in 2020. In 2020, the Subcommittee's work to create a draft planning document presenting policies and action items for the future development of Upper Providence Township was paused by COVID. Since then, the Township’s Planning Commission has drafted a plan based on current census, Township statistics and the latest planning information available.
The comprehensive plan relfects a ten-year planning window as required by the Municipalities Planning Code, and focuses on the following areas:
- Statement of Goals and Objectives
- Protection of natural and historic resources
- Future land use
- Housing needs (current and future residents)
- Transportation, including a Complete Streets Policy and Active Transportation Plan
- Infrastructure
- Community Facilities and Utilities
- Regional concerns and compatibility
The final adopted Comprehensive Plan can be found HERE.
The Planning Commission meets at 7:00 p.m. on the first and third Wednesday of every month in the Township Hall in the Administration Building. All meetings are open to the general public.
