Upper Providence Township was awarded a $3 Million Multimodal Grant from PennDOT. The grant will be used for the BlackRock Road Roundabout and Bridge Reconstruction Project. The $3 million awarded is the highest amount permitted for Multimodal Grants. The Township Board of Supervisors and staff are extremely grateful to all the people who helped with the grant application and award including Governor Josh Shapiro, Senator Katie Muth and Representative Joe Webster.
Upper Providence Township, Montgomery County, has experienced significant growth of over 3% per year (2020 to 2023) in population according to the U.S. Census data. We are pleased that people desire to live and work in our community and the Township works to provide resources and infrastructure improvements for all our residents. The Multimodal Grant will help us address traffic congestion that impacts emergency response times and commuter wait times.
