[ARCHIVED] Sgt. Scott Reynolds Receives FBI-LEEDA Trilogy Award

Leeda

The FBI-LEEDA (Law Enforcement Executive Development Association) organization has offered leadership and management seminars for law enforcement professionals since 2002. In 2006, they introduced their SLI course (Supervisor Leadership Institute) and the Command Leadership Institute (CLI).  Today, they also offer an Executive Leadership Institute (ELI).  Each course lasts a week, and the curriculum focuses on various levels of the law enforcement supervision ladder.  Initially, this course helps officers develop in their position further. In contrast, subsequent courses help the supervisor see leadership opportunities from a higher level, culminating in the ELI course, which offers the officers a chance to see management decisions from the agency head’s point of view.  Once officers complete all three courses, they will receive the Trilogy Award.

From LEEDA:
FBI-LEEDA instructors frequently refer to “the leadership journey” as they interact with leaders in all our classes. The leadership journey should be taken to heart by all police leaders. Leadership, as our kindred souls in other walks of life have known for centuries, must be a purposeful undertaking. That purposeful nature is the way in which the FBI-LEEDA Trilogy Series curriculum has been constructed. To maximize the benefits of this purposeful undertaking, it is highly recommended that every leader completes the entire Trilogy Series, the Supervisor Leadership Institute (SLI), the Command Leadership Institute (CLI), and the Executive Leadership Institute (ELI). We consider the Trilogy courses as pieces of a puzzle that all fit together to form a whole educational experience on leadership.

Sgt. Reynolds is the 10th current supervisor to complete the Trilogy at UPPD. We are proud to continually seek professional education opportunities for all our staff.
