UPT firefighters went to the Montgomery County Fire Academy in Conshohocken to participate in a live burn training with some of our mutual aid partners.
On Monday, June 3rd our firefighters went to the Montgomery County Fire Academy in Conshohocken to participate in a live burn training with some of our mutual aid partners; Perkiomen Township Fire Company, Royersford Fire Department, Black Rock Volunteer Fire Co. and Trappe Fire Company No. 1
The mixed teams worked multiple scenarios and evolutions in a supervised structure burn training. Teams focused on hose deployment and advancement plus search & rescue techniques, RIT (Rapid Intervention Team) and general firefighting. It’s a best practice to train together with our volunteer and mutual aid partners. Thanks to the Montgomery County Fire Academy for the use of their training facility. Our firefighters are required to participate in at least one live burn event each year. Constant and consistent training and discussion plus going through some practical scenarios keep all of us ready to respond.
