As part of our distribution system (pipeline) maintenance program, Pennsylvania American Water will be temporarily changing its disinfection treatment process from a chloramine (combined) residual to free chlorine residual in parts of Limerick, Upper Providence and Lower Pottsgrove Townships. Customers may notice an increase in the taste and smell of chlorine in the water as a result of the change. This will only be temporary while we complete this system maintenance.
The free chlorine residual treatment change will take place beginning April 16, 2025, and we will transition back to a chloramine residual on June 25, 2025.
2025 HYDRANT FLUSHING
Weather permitting, Pennsylvania American Water also will be flushing fire hydrants from April 2, 2025, through September 26, 2025. Discolored water may occur during flushing in your neighborhood. This is normal and will only be temporary while we complete this system maintenance. Thank you for your patience while we complete this important maintenance program.
